Sally McCubbin

At sixteen, Sally stumbled into a hot glass blowing studio. Bewitched, she stared wide-eyed and open mouthed.  Her unexplainable obsession with lava was finally making some sense.  At home, the girl’s fanatical claims of a future in glass artistry were, understandably, taken lightly.

In 2002, Sally decided it was time to follow her ambition.  This led her to Sheridan College where she devoted herself to the design, fabrication and refinement of objects, largely in glass.

Various awards and scholarships have validated her successes so far.  These have allowed her to travel internationally and further develop her craft identity.

She now resides happily in Toronto, making her work, exhibiting and always making time to learn from and share ideas with others.

She also is a part-time glassblowing instructor at Sheridan as of the fall of 2009.

“I am a maker in an overcrowded world of objects.  What I make is, therefore,  dependant on the word quality.”
