Stephanie Atkinson has always had a love for making things. Particular favourites have been jewelry, costumes and puppets. In 2006 Stephanie took a hiatus from her Theatre Design and Technical Production degree at York University to move to Prague, CZ to study marionette design. Upon her return she moved home to save money for her return to York. She was hired by Tim Hainsworth and Martha Jacobs to work at the Algonquin Motel and Groovy Glass Beads near her home town. What started as a job perk, became an immediate love. Martha, a glass artist taught Stephanie the basics of lampwork glass bead making. The following summer Stephanie was hired primarily as a lampwork bead artist for Groovy Glass Beads. She returned to York in the fall of 2007 (with loads of skills in hand!) to finish her degree and begin work as a freelance costume designer and theatre tech. In the fall of 2008 Stephanie started Bauble Box, her own glass bead business.
